Designed for trekkers who seek the thrill of reaching Everest Base Camp (5,364m) without giving up modern luxury, this journey features premium accommodations, delicious meals, and personalized service every step of the way.

From the moment you arrive in the Khumbu region, you’re guided through classic trekking villages like Phakding and Namche Bazaar, staying in some of the finest lodges available—most notably the Yeti Mountain Home series. These luxury lodges provide stunning mountain views, en-suite bathrooms, cozy bedding, and top-tier hospitality to make your journey restful even at high altitudes.

As the trek progresses through lush rhododendron forests, glacial valleys, and remote Sherpa settlements, you’ll explore cultural landmarks like the sacred Tengboche Monastery, visit traditional villages like Dingboche and Lobuche, and pay respects at memorials dedicated to past climbers. Each stop offers both raw natural beauty and peaceful moments to connect with the local way of life.

It ends with a scenic return flight from Lukla to Kathmandu (or a combination of flight and drive via Manthali), wrapping up your luxurious Himalayan escape with lasting memories.

Note: We recommend that you arrive in Kathmandu at least one day before the trek begins—by 3 PM—to allow enough time for final preparations and briefing.

Pre-Trek Online Preparation Session

To make sure you’re completely ready for the Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek, we offer a detailed pre-trek online preparation session. During this meeting, we’ll guide you through essential packing tips, share the full trek itinerary, and set expectations for your journey.

Once your booking is confirmed, we’ll send you a list of available session times. After receiving your key documents, we’ll arrange your personalized online session so you can start your adventure with confidence and clarity.

Important Information About Your Lukla Flight

During peak trekking seasons—March, April, May, October, and November—flights to Lukla often operate from Ramechhap Airport (Manthali) instead of Kathmandu due to heavy air traffic. On these days, you’ll need to depart Kathmandu around 12:30 AM for a roughly five-hour drive to Ramechhap to catch your Lukla flight.

Outside of busy periods, flights generally depart directly from Kathmandu to Lukla, making the journey more convenient.

Since weather conditions in the Everest region can frequently cause flight delays or cancellations, it’s wise to build in at least two extra days to your itinerary. This buffer will help ensure you don’t miss your return flight, allowing for a smoother, stress-free end to your Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek.

The flight is approximately 40 minutes from Kathmandu and about 20 minutes from Manthali. This scenic flight offers spectacular views of the Himalayan peaks, including Mt. Everest on a clear day.

Upon landing in Lukla, your trekking adventure officially starts as you trek downhill for around three hours through charming villages, rhododendron forests, and alongside the Dudh Koshi River to Phakding, a peaceful Sherpa village where you’ll spend your first night. The lodge here offers comfortable rooms and hot meals, allowing you to rest and prepare for the days ahead.

Day 2Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m /11286.0892 f )

Today’s trek is one of the most iconic sections of the Khumbu route, taking around six hours. You’ll cross several suspension bridges decorated with colorful prayer flags and pass mani stones engraved with Buddhist prayers. The trail gradually climbs through pine forests and offers your first close-up views of Everest and its neighboring giants.

The bustling town of Namche Bazaar is the cultural and economic hub of the Sherpa people. Here you can explore traditional markets, buy trekking gear, and interact with friendly locals. Luxury lodges provide modern amenities, including private bathrooms and warm beds to ensure a restful night.

Day 3 Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

To minimize altitude sickness risk, today is a rest and acclimatization day. You can explore the Sherpa Culture Museum or hike to Everest View Hotel for panoramic mountain views, including Ama Dablam and Mt. Everest.

Acclimatizing properly helps your body adjust to the thinning air and prepares you for higher elevations. Enjoy fresh local cuisine at your luxury lodge and soak in the serene mountain atmosphere.

Day 4Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche/Deboche (3,855 m/ 12647 f)

This moderate 5-hour trek takes you deeper into the Khumbu Valley. Along the way, you’ll pass through rhododendron forests and traditional villages before arriving at Tengboche, home to the largest and most famous monastery in the region.

Tengboche Monastery offers spiritual calm and stunning views of Everest, Lhotse, and Ama Dablam. Here, experience Buddhist chanting and prayer wheels, a highlight of the cultural immersion on this trek. Your lodge here offers cozy accommodations with views of the surrounding peaks.

Day 5Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,360 m / 14304 f)

Today’s journey of approximately 5 hours brings you through alpine landscapes as the air grows thinner. Dingboche, known as the “Summer Valley,” is a quaint Sherpa village where yak pastures are common.

The lodge provides warm meals and comfortable rest after the day’s trek. The setting sun illuminating the surrounding Himalayan peaks is a spectacular sight.

Day 6 Acclimatization Day at Dingboche

Another rest day to acclimate. Many trekkers use this day to hike to Nagarjun Hill or Chukung Valley for breathtaking views of towering mountains like Lhotse and Ama Dablam. This helps increase your stamina and prepare your body for the upcoming high-altitude trekking days. Enjoy the peaceful village ambiance and take in the fresh mountain air.

Day 7Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,930 m /16174.54 f)

This 5-hour trek leads you closer to Everest Base Camp, through rugged terrain and glacial moraines. You’ll pass the famous memorials dedicated to climbers who lost their lives on Everest, offering a moment of reflection on the mountain’s challenges. Lobuche village offers a basic yet comfortable lodge experience, essential for your final preparations to reach Everest Base Camp.

Day 8Trek from Lobuche to Everest Base Camp (5,364 m) and back to Gorak Shep (5,185 m /17011.1549 f)

This is the most challenging yet rewarding day on the trek, lasting around 7 hours. Trek uphill to the legendary Everest Base Camp, standing at the foot of the world’s highest peak. Here, take in the vast Khumbu Glacier and the bustling climbers’ camp during the climbing season.

Afterward, descend to Gorak Shep, where you’ll stay overnight in the highest permanent settlement on the route.

Day 9Hike to Kala Patthar (5,555 m) viewpoint, trek to Pheriche (4,250 m /13943.57 f )

Start early with a hike to Kala Patthar, the best vantage point for a panoramic sunrise view of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and the surrounding Himalayas. This viewpoint, at 5,555 meters, offers a breathtaking and unforgettable experience.

After soaking in the views, descend to Gorak Shep for breakfast, then continue your trek downhill to Pheriche, a quiet village with luxury lodges that offer comfortable bedding, hot showers, and delicious meals—perfect for relaxing after the high-altitude exertion.

Day 10Trek from Pheriche to Tengboche (3,855 m / 12647.638 f)

Today, you begin your descent, trekking approximately 5 hours back to Tengboche. The trail descends through beautiful forests filled with rhododendrons and pine trees. Stop to revisit the majestic Tengboche Monastery or relax at your lodge and enjoy the Himalayan views one more time.

This section helps your body recover from higher altitudes and prepares you for the remaining descent.

Day 11Trek from Tengboche to Namche Bazaar (3,440 m / 11286.09 f )

A 5-hour trek downhill leads you back to Namche Bazaar. Enjoy the lively town atmosphere, shopping opportunities, and a final chance to savor Sherpa culture. Luxurious accommodation with warm rooms, Wi-Fi, and hearty meals await to make your stay comfortable.

Day 12Trek from Namche Bazaar to Phakding (2,650 m /8694.22572 f)

The trek continues downhill for about 4 hours. Enjoy your last trek through forested paths, suspension bridges, and peaceful villages. The lodge in Phakding offers a cozy rest stop and delicious meals to prepare you for the final leg.

Day 13Trek from Phakding to Lukla (2,850 m/9350.394 f)

Today, you trek for approximately 4 hours to Lukla, where the journey began. Celebrate your accomplishment with your trekking crew and savor your final night in the mountains. Lukla’s lodges provide comfortable amenities and a festive atmosphere as trekkers from all over the world gather here.

Day 14Flight from Lukla to Kathmandu/Manthali and Return to Kathmandu

Conclude your luxury Everest Base Camp trek with a scenic flight back to Kathmandu or Manthali. The flight duration is roughly 40 minutes from Lukla to Kathmandu and 20 minutes to Manthali. If landing in Manthali, you will enjoy a scenic 5-hour drive to Kathmandu, witnessing rural landscapes and hilltop villages along the way.

Adding buffer days for potential flight delays due to weather is recommended, especially during peak trekking seasons (March, April, May, October, and November). This ensures you have a stress-free return without missing your onward travel plans.

Luxury Everest Base Camp Trek Package Information

Arrival, Welcome, and Trek Start:
Your luxury Everest base camp trek starts with a warm welcome the moment you arrive in Kathmandu, Nepal. Our representative will greet you at the airport holding a placard with your name and present you with a traditional marigold garland. A private vehicle will then transfer you to your hotel, offering a relaxed start to your Everest base camp trek journey.

To ensure a smooth departure, we recommend arriving in Kathmandu by 3 pm at least one day before the trek begins. On departure day, our team will transfer you to the airport for your scenic flight to Lukla. During peak trekking months like March, April, May, September, October, and November, Lukla flights may depart from Manthali Airport due to air traffic. In that case, our guide will pick you up at midnight for a five-hour drive to Manthali, followed by a 20-minute flight.

Accommodations:

During your 14-day Everest base camp trek, you’ll enjoy 13 nights of cozy, comfortable lodging in the mountains of Nepal. Six of these nights are spent in the renowned Yeti Mountain Home at Lukla, Phakding (2N), and Namche (3N), offering a luxury trek experience with warm hospitality.

The remaining nights will be in quality standard lodges at iconic trekking stops like Tengboche, Dingboche, Pheriche, Lobuche, and Gorakshep. Most lodges provide electricity for charging, access to Wi-Fi, and hot showers, although extra charges may apply during the Everest base camp trek.

Please note, accommodation in Kathmandu is not included in the package. You’ll need to book at least two extra nights separately, with plenty of hotel options available to suit your comfort and budget before or after your luxury trek in Nepal.

In other months such as December, January, February, June, July, and August, the Lukla flight operates directly from Kathmandu. You’ll be transferred early in the morning for a 40-minute flight to Lukla, where your unforgettable Everest base camp trek begins in full spirit.

Dining Experience:

Your Everest base camp trek package includes 14 breakfasts, 14 lunches, and 13 dinners. At Yeti Mountain Home, you’ll enjoy delicious buffet-style meals, making your luxury trek in Nepal more comforting and memorable. Other meals are served in reliable standard lodges along the trail.

Expect a mix of Nepali, Asian, and Western dishes. At higher altitudes, choices become simpler—so we encourage healthy options like garlic soup, hot lemon, green tea, and Dal Bhat Tarkari to support high altitude acclimatization.

To stay safe during the trek, it’s best to avoid meat, alcohol, and caffeine in the mountains.

Luggage and Porter Assistance:

During your Everest Base Camp luxury trek, we provide one dedicated porter for every two trekkers, ensuring your journey through the Himalayas remains light and comfortable. Each trekker is allowed to carry up to 9 kg, totaling 18 kg per porter. For ease and balance, please share a 60+ liter duffle bag with your trekking partner.

For your high-altitude adventure in Nepal, we recommend bringing a small daypack for daily use—perfect for carrying your water, snacks, camera, and essential documents. Any excess belongings that are not needed during the trek can be safely stored either at your Kathmandu hotel or securely with us at our complimentary luggage storage facility.

Let us handle the heavy load while you focus on the breathtaking trails of your luxury Everest Base Camp trek.

Facilities and Essentials

Safe Drinking Water:

During your luxury Everest Base Camp trek, hydration is vital. Trekkers can buy bottled water along the route or request boiled or filtered water at mountain lodges. We highly recommend carrying a reusable water bottle and opting for boiled water at teahouses to minimize plastic waste.

Untreated tap, stream, or well water is unsafe—always use purification tablets. If you don’t carry your own, we’ll happily supply them to ensure you stay healthy during your high-altitude trek in Nepal.

Connectivity and Safety Communication:

Staying connected on your high-altitude adventure is possible, though limited in remote regions. In Kathmandu, we assist you in purchasing a local SIM card, which works well at lower elevations. However, signal strength weakens as you ascend.

To keep our luxury Everest Base Camp trek safe and coordinated, our lead guide stays in regular mobile contact with our Kathmandu team. We monitor every trek closely and are always on standby to handle any unforeseen emergencies with swift support.

Travel Essentials

Visa Information:

For your Nepal trek, a valid tourist visa is essential for all foreigners, except Indian nationals. Most travelers can get a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu. Make sure your passport is valid for at least six months, carry a recent passport-sized photo, and have USD 50 in cash for the 30-day visa. To avoid last-minute hassle, always check the latest entry guidelines at  immigration.gov.np .

Mandatory Travel Insurance:

Before beginning your luxury Everest Base Camp trek, ensure you have full travel insurance. Your policy must include coverage for emergency medical care and helicopter evacuation up to 5,550 meters—the trek’s highest point.

You’ll need to submit a copy of your insurance before departure. We urge you to speak with your provider to confirm rescue coverage in writing. Website details can sometimes be misleading.

Currency Exchange in Nepal:

The local currency for your high-altitude trek is the Nepalese Rupee (NPR), with an exchange rate of roughly NPR 133 per USD. You can convert major foreign currencies at approved exchange centers or banks in Kathmandu. ATMs are widely available but charge transaction fees. Please note: old, torn, or worn-out foreign notes may not be accepted. Only INR 100 denominations are considered valid in Nepal.

Additional Personal Expenses:

While our luxury Everest Base Camp trek package covers most essential costs along the trail, certain items are your responsibility. Expenses not included are Kathmandu accommodation, personal meals in the city, visa charges, snacks, beverages, Wi-Fi, hot showers, electronic charging, trekking gear, and crew tips. We recommend budgeting approximately USD 20 per day for such additional expenses.

Trek Season and Weather Conditions

Choosing the right season for your luxury Everest Base Camp trek depends on both the climate and your trekking style. If you’re seeking clear skies, warm sunshine, and postcard-worthy Himalayan views, then spring and autumn are the ideal times for your Nepal trek. During spring (March to May), the temperature at higher elevations can climb to 20 °C in the daytime and dip to around -5 °C at night. In the autumn months (September to November), days can warm up to 25 °C, while nights drop to a chilly -10 °C.

We also operate Everest Base Camp adventures during the summer (June to August) and winter (December to February). In summer, higher altitudes can reach up to 27 °C during the day, but the nights remain cool at around 5 °C. During winter, expect daytime temperatures around 15 °C and bitterly cold nights dropping to -20 °C.

If you’re considering a summer Nepal trek, be aware that monsoon rains can make lower trails muddy and increase the chance of flight delays. For those attempting a high-altitude trek in winter, prepare for freezing conditions and heavy snowfall that can sometimes blanket the path. While each season offers a unique perspective of Everest Base Camp, the choice ultimately depends on your comfort with weather and trail conditions.

Flight Delays

Flights between Kathmandu and Lukla are highly sensitive to high-altitude weather, and delays or cancellations are common—especially during the Everest Base Camp trek seasons. While the journey is part of the adventure, we advise all Nepal trek travelers to add at least 1–2 buffer days to their itinerary to stay flexible.

For urgent travel needs, helicopter alternatives are sometimes available. If five people share the ride, the cost may range from USD 500 to 1,000 per person. While not cheap, this option can be a practical backup during unexpected Everest Base Camp flight disruptions.

Typical Day

Each day on this luxury Everest Base Camp trek begins with an early breakfast to energize you for the journey ahead. You’ll trek for 3 to 4 hours in the morning, followed by a relaxing one-hour lunch break. The afternoon involves a shorter trek, allowing time to soak in the stunning Everest Base Camp experience. Dinner is served around 7 pm, after which your guide will share the plan for the next day.

Evenings are your time to unwind — whether resting, exploring the lodge surroundings, playing board games, or engaging in cultural exchanges that deepen your connection with the local Sherpa community.

Everest Destiny Trek Family

Our team members are skilled professionals from remote high Himalayan regions. They are highly trained, government-certified, and dedicated to ensuring your trek is both safe and unforgettable. We take pride in fairly compensating our staff and covering their insurance, meals, and accommodation throughout the journey. We believe that a happy and well-supported team delivers the best service to our trekkers.

Sustainable Tourism Practices

At Everest Trek Destiny, we collaborate closely with the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) to promote eco-conscious trekking. Our goal is to preserve the natural beauty of the trail by leaving behind nothing but footprints and taking only memories.

Tipping Etiquette

In Nepal, tipping is a respected tradition though it’s not compulsory. We suggest trekking in groups and offering tips collectively at the trek’s conclusion. The amount you tip should fairly reflect the quality of service, overall trek cost, and duration, ensuring appreciation for the hard work of your guides and porters.
